Sandakphu Trek Itinerary (6 Days / 5 Nights)

Day 1: Arrival at Mane Bhanjang (6,325 ft.)

  • Arrive at Mane Bhanjang, the gateway to the Sandakphu trek.

  • Check-in at your homestay/lodge and relax.

  • Optional activities:

    • Visit Simana View Point for sweeping views of the hills and valleys.

    • Explore Mane Bhanjang Market for local delicacies and handicrafts.

  • Overnight stay at Mane Bhanjang.

Day 2: Trek from Mane Bhanjang to Tumling (10,000 ft.)

  • Trekking distance: 11 km | Duration: 4–5 hrs

  • Trail Highlights:

    • Trek via Chitrey and Meghma villages.

    • Enter Singalila National Park, home to red pandas, black bears, and diverse flora.

    • Walk along the India–Nepal border, spotting SSB camps en route.

    • Catch glimpses of the Kanchenjunga range.

Day 3: Trek from Tumling to Kalapokhri (10,302 ft.)

    • Descend to Gairibas, a picturesque spot with tea shops and an SSB post.

    • Walk through dense rhododendron and oak forests.

    • Steady climb to the mystical Kalapokhri Lake, a black-water sacred lake surrounded by Buddhist prayer flags.

Day 4: Trek from Kalapokhri to Sandakphu (11,950 ft.)

    • The trail gets steeper with rocky, rugged terrain.

Day 5: Trek from Sandakphu to Srikhola (6,900 ft.)

    • Descend through lush forests and meadows.

Day 6: Departure from Srikhola

  • Wake up to the last Himalayan sunrise of your journey.
